What an awful night’s sleep! We went to bed early because I needed to go to school on Saturday to help move classrooms. However, we woke up at midnight and heard rattling from behind the curtains. On investigation it was a bat, who then spent the next three quarters of an hour flying around the bedroom. I took some pictures first, and then tried to catch it in a towel (it could not find its way back out the window). Eventually I caught it and then carefully released it back out side. Of course, by this time I was wide awake and found it hard to go back to sleep!

We had a visitor tonight…a deer. Unfortunately, I only had the school camera and I had forgot that it was on its lowest setting. It was nice to see, but I hope it does not visit too often…it might eat the fruit trees! I thought that I would use some alliteration when naming my digger! Debbie was born in 1997. I have bought her to help me clean ditches and the ponds. She will also help dig the foundations for our extension or new bungalow. I decided to buy because it is expensive hiring a machine, and if I want to I will be able to sell her when I have finished all the jobs. Katy the tractor has a new friend … Freddie Forrester. He is a wood chipper that I have bought for chipping the willow trees. I have been cutting some new access tracks, so that I can cut firewood in the future, but in the meantime I have been using the chippings on the garden to help prevent the weeds taking over. Here is a couple of pictures of a robin and her babies. They were in my garage and I had to avoid moving anything for a few weeks. I managed to get them to open their beaks by making a chirping noise.
